dino-shaped cake pan and a little imagination!

MATERIALS:
Dinosaur Cake Pan
Pkg. of Cake
Mix for double
layer cake
Can of ready-made frosting
Chocolate kisses
Colorful candies
like M & Ms or Skittles
Red string licorice
This dinosaur cake idea starts with a dinosaur cake
pan which can be online or at your local craft store.
Before you start, be sure to check
out our Cake Baking Tips page. Bake the cake as
directed. After it has cooled, remove it from the pan.
Reserve 1/2 cup white frosting for the fine details. Tint the rest of the frosting green and cover the
entire cake. Using a straight decorating tip, outline the dinosaur's arms and
legs and backbone in the reserved white frosting.
Use M & Ms or
Skittles for eyes and add white eyebrows and nose.
Fashion a mouth from two pieces of red string licorice.
Unwrap
chocolate kisses and set them one inch apart along the dinosaur's back and tail as
shown in the picture. Set M & M's or Skittles along the
dinosaur's back as well.

Dinosaur
Cupcakes
Dinosaur cupcakes are
easy to make and are ideal for taking to a classroom party or other venue
outside the home.
Simply frost cupcakes in the color or colors of your
choice. Then cut out assorted dinosaur pictures for
decorations. For added fun, I used dinosaur tattoos
. Stickers work well
also.
Cut colorful straws into
5 inch lengths and tape the tattoo or sticker to one end. Cut a pointy
tip on the other end and insert into the cupcake.
Dinosaur cupcakes make a very impressive presentation
at any kids party! Kids will love picking out
their favorite dinosaur, then getting to wear it as a tattoo long after the
party's over!
Of course, this idea works for any type of party.
Just choose your theme and assorted funtoos
or stickers,
and make these crazy colorful creations!
