Fairy Birthday Party Games

Bubblemania - Give each guest a butterfly net.  Tell them that fairies sometimes take rides in bubbles.  Start your  bubble machine or have an adult blow bubbles.  Tell guests to try to catch the fairy bubbles in their nets.  Great fairy party game to play while guests are arriving.

Imagine You're a Fairy!  - Set the mood and get party guests in the fairy spirit with a reading of this awesome 5-star rated book.

Pin the Star on the Fairy's Wand or Pin the Wings on the Fairy - Enlarge a picture from the internet or a child's book for this game.  Tape to a wall and make gold stars or wings for each party guest to stick on the designated spot.  Winners can be those who come the closest and furthest away from the target. A classic fairy party game idea!

Flower Pot Ring Toss - Hot glue silk flowers to wooden dowels and stick in flower pots filled with green foam or moss.  Or, attach craft foam flowers to sturdy plastic straws (the loopy crazy straws in bright primary colors look best) and add to flower pots. Cover hoops with small silk flowers to make fairy rings. Kids must toss a fairy ring over a flower pot to claim a prize.

Fairy Frolic - Play
Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake and other classical music selections while your fairies dance and flit about as fairies do!  When the music is stopped by an adult, any fairies left fluttering are out of the game.  Let the music and dancing continue until there is only one child left - the Fairy Queen!

Musical Mushrooms - Cut large mushroom shapes from tan or brown construction paper.  Add red spots for color.  Provide one fewer mushrooms than the number of guests at your party. Start the music and have the children walk in a circle around the mushrooms, until you stop the music.

When the music stops everyone tries to sit on a vacant mushroom. The player who doesn't find an open mushroom is out. One mushrom is taken away and the game continues until only one person (the winner) is left.

Finding Fairy Gold - Scatter pastel colored chocolate kisses or pennies around the party area. Make some harder to find than others. Tell party guests that the fairies have hidden some fairy treats for them to discover.  Kids get to keep what they find in this fun fairy party game.

Fairy, Fairy, Troll - Played like Duck Duck Goose with players tapping each person on the head with their fairy wands and flying to their spots.

Pixie Pass the Parcel - Wrap candies in layers of paper to make a parcel.  Guests sit in a circle and pass the parcel while an adult leader plays music.  When the music stops, the player holding the parcel get to open a layer.  He or she keeps the candy within.

Give this old favorite a new twist by adding
pixie star confetti  to each layer which will spill out when opened.

Games to "Wind down" from Party Excitement:

Sleepy Fairies - This fairy party game requires all the children to lie down on the floor and pretend to be sleeping.  Tell them they have had a spell cast on them by the Queen of the Fairies.  They must lie still with no movement at all or they are out of the game.  Sooner or later someone will twitch or giggle!  Children who are out can try to make the others move, but can't touch them.  The winner is the last sleeping fairy.
