"Gingy" has become a favorite of adults and kids alike. His feisty personality and "can do" attitude, not to mention his squeaky voice, have amused families since he debuted in the first Shrek movie!

A gingerbread man costume is easy! Start with a brown sweatsuit. Add two or three large blue felt circles for buttons - if you plan to reuse the sweatsuit, you can sew them on, if not, glue them on with fabric glue.

Next, add white felt accents around the wrists, waist, and at the knees as shown on the costume below.

Color your child's face brown with face paints or crayons, then accent as shown. Make large clownlike red lips, and blue eyebrows. Another option is to make a paper plate mask for your child which is designed to look like Gingy's round head.
