Ideas**
Animal Scramble - Scramble the names of several jungle
animals on a sheet of paper. Each guest gets the sheet and a pencil. Instruct
children to unscramble the animal names in a preset amount of time. The one with
the most correct unscrambled names is the winner.
Animal
Identification - Place small plastic animals in a tissue box. Each
child closes their eyes, puts their hand into the box and chooses an
animal, then guesses what they’ve picked by feel only.
Coordinate a Puppet Show with stuffed jungle
animals or even these cute jungle animal hand puppets or jungle animal finger puppets!
Which Animal Am I? -
Paint a picture of a different jungle
animal on foam visors. Children sit in a circle with one child in the middle.
The adult leader places one of the visors on the player, who must then guess
which animal s/he is wearing. All guests help by acting out the
animal in sounds and gestures.

Ideas**
Barrel O' Monkeys - Have party guests line up on one
side of the room. Tell them that they are the monkeys trying to reach the
safety of the jungle treetops on the other side of the room. However, they
must get past the Tiger - the party child - who is standing in the middle.
When a Monkey is tagged by the Tiger, he or she must link arms with him
and join forces in capturing more Monkeys for the Monkey chain.
As
the Monkey chain grows longer, it's harder to move quickly to capture more
Monkeys. And... the running Monkeys have to be more crafty about getting
around the Monkey chain. The last free Monkey is the
winner.
Swift Safari - Line guests up into two teams.
Fill two backpacks with a pair of adult-sized shorts, shirt, hat and boots
and place them about 20 ft. from players. At the signal, the first
player on each team must run to the backpack, open it, and put on all the
clothes, then run back, take them off, and put them back into the pack. The next
player repeats this process. The first team finished is the
winner.
Peanut Patrol - Place two tables about 20
ft. apart. Place two bowls of peanuts on one table and two mugs on the other.
Players on each team take turns running from one table to the the
other, filling their team’s mug from the peanut bowl. The first team that
fills the cup is the winner.

Crocodile Caper - Make an obstacle course from
materials on hand such as jump ropes, picnic tables, hula hoops, balls, etc.
Scatter a few inflatable crocodiles about the area. Instruct players that they
must cross the swamp (obstacle course) to escape the fierce crocs.
Tarzan Yell contest - Who wouldn’t like
to yell like Tarzan? This is a great one to capture on video.
Jungle Safari - Hide several small jungle animal toys,
inflatable animals or beanie toys around the party area house, yard, garage etc. Start
with a story about a Grand Safari, then send the kids off to find their wild animals.
They get to keep what they find.
Try this Camouflage Water Bomb Kit! for an
outdoor jungle party game idea! It includes ammo belt, water bomb
launcher, quick-fill loader with on/off switch, and 36 camouflage
balloons. The nifty belt holds 10-12 water balloons at a time!

Pin the Tail on the Monkey
- This variation of "Pin the Tail on the Donkey" requires a poster-sized
picture of a monkey. Have the local copy shop enlarge a picture from a child's
book. Make the monkey tails from posterboard and number them for each guest.
Each guest is spun around 3 times and pointed at the poster to try to pin the
tail on the monkey.
Variations: Pin the Tail on the Tiger, Pin the Trunk on the
Elephant
Hungry Elephant - Cut elephant ears out of heavy cardboard or
foamcore (one piece for both ears.) Fashion a cone from grey construction paper
and staple or glue below the ears to form the elephant's trunk. Draw the
elephants eyes above the trunk. Give guests a handful of peanuts to throw one by
one into the elephant's trunk. The one who gets the most peanuts in gets the
prize!
Tarzan
Says - Similar to
"Simon Says", enlist the aid of an adult "Tarzan" to lead guests through an
assortment of animal sounds and gestures.
Jungle
Charades -
Prior to the party,
cut out animal pictures from old magazines and paste them on index cards. At
the party, each child gets a turn to pick a card.
The player must then act out her creature
(in sounds and gestures only) until the others shout out her identity. When the
animal is guessed, the rest of the party guests jump up and act out the same animal
together.
Snakebite
-
Fill a small plastic container (film canister or prescription bottle) with dried
beans or beads. Tie in an old sock stuffed with newspaper or plastic bags. Add
button eyes and decorate your "rattlesnake".
Guests sit in a circle and
pass the "rattler" while snippets of western music are played. The player
holding the rattler when the music stops (the one who is "bitten") is out. The
last player left is the winner.
