Princess Gown
The basis of your princess costume is a suitable gown. There are a few
options you can choose. A pretty prom dress can easily be cut down and pinned to
fit a child’s frame.
A simple body suit and ballet tutu, or even a pretty nightgown is another
option for creating a popular princess costume. White tights and a long T-Shirt
can also be embellished with glitter and glitz to delight your little princess’s
fancy.
Now that the basic dress has been decided, it’s all about accessories! Here
are some more ideas for dressing Miss Royalty from head to toe and everything in
between.

Princess Head Wreath
Make a ring of chenille pipe cleaners or star garland found at your local
craft store. Loop around twice and twist ends together.
Take several pieces of curling ribbon, curl on the ends, then tie to the back
of the headband. Use bright complementary colors that will look really pretty
flowing down your little girl's back.
Medieval Princess Cone Hat
Roll a heavy weight piece of paper into a cone shape. Tape or staple to
secure. Trim bottom edge if necessary to give it a nice rounded shape. Decorate
the hat with paint, glitter, and other embellishments.
R un a piece of tulle through the top of the hat, or
hot glue some maribou trim to the bottom. Poke a hole in each side of the hat
along the bottom edge. Run a knotted piece of ribbon or lightweight elastic
through each hole to hold on child's head.

Princess Cape
A beautiful cape can be made from various frilly or
glittery materials. Add a strip of maribou or gold lace or similar trim around
the edges of the cape for a finished look.
Or, try a faux fur wrap. Obtain a length of faux fur from your local fabric
store and cut to fit around your child’s shoulders. Add a strip or a few buttons
of velcro to hold it together in the front. Glue a large ornamental jewel or
button on the front closure to make a fine fashion statement.
