Pot O' Gold Pumpkin - This one's super easy!

Paint your pumpkin a shiny gold and put it in a black pot. Let kids write their names on it.

Add a jaunty leprechaun and rainbow.

Patriotic Pumpkin - Paint your pumpkin with red, white and blue alternating stripes as shown here.

Add a burst of tinsel stars and a small flag on top. Embellish with symbols of our two political parties.

If desired, use a star stencil and white craft paint to sponge stars on the blue and red stripes, or red and blue stars on the white stripes.

Turkey Pumpkin - This design works great if you have kids! Start with a round or oval pumpkin laid on its side.

Have kids trace their hands on red, orange, yellow and brown construction paper. Hotglue three rows of overlapping hands onto the back end of the pumpkin to make the turkey's feathers. Add a few further toward the head end of the turkey for the wings.

Fashion the turkey's head from red felt and add yellow felt beak and white and black eyes. Hot glue it over the pumpkin stem. Add curly yarn for the turkey wattle.

Snowman Pumpkin - Celebrate the coming winter by making a snowman pumpkin.

Choose one large and one smaller pumpkin for the head and body. Paint both pumpkins white and the stem of the smaller pumpkin orange.

Remove the stem from the larger pumpkin. Set the smaller pumpkin on its side on top of the larger one and glue to secure.

Now comes the fun and creative part. Glue on black buttons, bangles or craft foam for eyes, mouth and front buttons. Add a child's winter hat and scarf to complete a jaunty little Halloween snowman.
