Spider Man Games
For Your Friendly Neighborhood Party!

Spider Man fans love our Spider Man games chock full of tangled webs, crawling things, and sticky stuff!

Spider Man face

**Web-Slingin' Spider Man Games**

Spin a Web - Divide guests into two teams of four or more players. The teams line up and face each other. The first player on each team is given a ball of string.

At the starting signal, the first player hands the ball of string to the next person in line, while holding onto the end of the string.

The ball is then unwound a little more and passed to the third player, and so on, unrolling as it goes.

When the ball of string gets to the end of the line, the last player passes it behind his back and back up the line again. This is repeated until the whole ball is used up. The first team to finish is the winner. Then you can have an untying relay, with the first team to untie itself the winner!

Exterminator - This is an outdoor game, especially great for a hot day. Set off a game area and spread several beach towels on the ground in various locations. These are the spider webs.. One child is designated the "Exterminator" and is armed with a spray bottle of water. The other guests are spiders. The Exterminator must get rid of the spiders by spraying them with his bottle of insecticide.

When a player is sprayed, they must lay on the ground with arms and legs in the air - like a dead bug! The other players rescue the dead spiders and bring them back to life by carrying them by the arms and legs to one of the webs. (While a spider rescue is taking place, the Exterminator cannot spray any of the rescuers.)

Once placed on a web, the dead spiders come back to life and can rejoin the game. This game can go on for quite awhile and is sure to wear out your little bugs!

Variation: If you have a large room, this game can be played inside using
glow streamer silly string instead of water.

Tangled Web - Attach small prizes to lengths of different colored yarn. Wind the yard around the house, under and around furniture, from one room to the other. Kids must unwind their tangled webs to find their prize.

**Spider-iffic Spider Man Games**

Spider Down My Shirt - Divide the children into two teams. Give each teach a ball of yarn with a plastic spider tied to the end. A big furry one is best if you can find it. Have the first player on each team put the bug spider or down their shirt and pull the string through. The first player then hands the spider to the second player in line and he does the same thing. They keep passing until they get to the end of the line.

You can finish the games here or have them reverse the process and take the spider back out of their shirts. The first team to get the spider all the way back to the first player wins.

Flycatcher - You'll need two straight-back chairs and either Halloween spider webbing or a ball of twine. Place the chairs back to back about four feet apart. Make a web between the tops of the two chairs.

Line party guests on one side of the web and start your Spider Man theme song. One by one, guests must crawl under the web, get up and follow the line around to go through again.

When the adult leader pauses the music, the "fly" caught under the web is out. The game progress until the last "fly" who has escaped Spidey's web is the winner.

**Classic Spider Man Games**

Guess How Many Spiders - Fill a jar with plastic spiders or spider rings and have guests guess how many are in the jar.

Pin Spiderman on the Web - "Pin the tail" with a Spidey twist. Make a spider web as shown under "spider web invitation" above. Find a picture of Spider Man in a coloring book or on the internet. Make copies with a piece of tape on the back and have guests pin spiderman on the web. The one who gets Spidey closest to the center is the winner.

Spider Toss - Throw beanbag or plastic spiders into ceramic flower pots. The child with the most "potted" insects is the winner.

Wonderful Web Walk - Make cardboard webs from heavy black paper with chalk webs drawn on. Provide one fewer web than the number of guests at your party. Start the music and have the children walk in a circle around the webs which are strewn on the floor, until you stop the music. When the music stops everyone tries to sit on a vacant web. The "spider" who doesn't find a web to stick to is out. One web is taken away and the game continues until only one person (the winner) is left.

Bugbite - Play with a spider beanbag or a big hairy plastic tarantula (available around Halloween). Children sit in a circle and pass the bug while an adult plays music. When the music stops, the child holding the bug (the one "bitten") is out and the game continues. The winner is the last player left who has not been bitten by the bug.

**Active Spider Man Games**

Ants and Spiders - One person is "It" and has to run around tagging as many people as they can. When they have tagged someone, that person has to stop and stand with their legs apart and their hands outstretched, until another player crawls through their legs. A player who's been caught three times is out. The game ends when everyone left is standing still.

Spider Crawl -Line guests up and arrange a finish line about 10 yards away. Show them how to hold their ankles and run like a spider. If a child lets go of his ankles he is out of the race. The winner is the first child who reaches the line.

**Sticky Spider Man Games**

Green Goblin's Warped Science Lab - Start with several boxes, sealed except for a cut-out slot into which children can slide their hand. Cover the boxes with black paper and label them with the body parts they contain, but not with the actual ingredients as shown below. Each child gets a chance to feel the yucky contents.

Note: Young children may not like this activity, so make it clear from the beginning that it's strictly voluntary. Let the brave ones participate, while the others can watch and laugh.

Eyeballs - peeled grapes or green olives
Ears - dried apricots
Teeth - dried pumpkin seeds, dried beans or unpopped popcorn kernels
Guts - cooked gelatin or insides of a carved pumpkin
Hair - fake wig or corn silk
Skin - a soft flour tortilla with a little vegetable oil brushed over it
Bones - chicken bones
Toes - small dried up carrots
Brains - cold cooked spaghetti
Fingers - cocktail hotdogs
