~ Spider Man Games ~
Spider Down My Shirt - Divide the children into two teams. Give each teach a ball of yarn with a
plastic spider tied to the end. A big furry one is best if you can find it. Have the first player on
each team put the bug spider or down their shirt and pull the string through. The first player then
hands the spider to the second player in line and he does the same thing. They keep passing until
they get to the end of the line.
You can finish the games here or have them reverse the process
and take the spider back out of their shirts. The first team to get the spider all the way back to the
first player wins.
Flycatcher - You'll need two straight-back chairs and either Halloween spider webbing or a ball of twine. Place the chairs back to back about four feet apart. Make a web between the tops of the two chairs.
Line party guests on one side of the web and start your Spider Man theme song. One by one, guests must crawl under the web, get up and follow the line around to go through again.
When the adult leader pauses the music, the "fly" caught under the web is out. The game progress until the last "fly" who has escaped Spidey's web is the winner.

Guess How Many Spiders - Fill a jar with plastic spiders or spider rings and have guests guess
how many are in the jar.
Pin Spiderman on the Web - "Pin the tail" with a Spidey twist. Make a spider web as shown
under "spider web invitation" above. Find a picture of Spider Man in a coloring book or on the
internet. Make copies with a piece of tape on the back and have guests pin spiderman on the
web. The one who gets Spidey closest to the center is the winner.
Spider Toss - Throw beanbag or plastic spiders into ceramic flower pots. The child with the
most "potted" insects is the winner.
Wonderful Web Walk - Make cardboard webs from heavy black paper with chalk webs drawn
on. Provide one fewer web than the number of guests at your party. Start the music and have
the children walk in a circle around the webs which are strewn on the floor, until you stop the
music. When the music stops everyone tries to sit on a vacant web. The "spider" who doesn't
find a web to stick to is out. One web is taken away and the game continues until only one
person (the winner) is left.
Bugbite - Play with a spider beanbag or a big hairy plastic tarantula (available around
Halloween). Children sit in a circle and pass the bug while an adult plays music. When the
music stops, the child holding the bug (the one "bitten") is out and the game continues. The
winner is the last player left who has not been bitten by the bug.

Ants and Spiders - One person is "It" and has to run around tagging as many people as they can.
When they have tagged someone, that person has to stop and stand with their legs apart and their
hands outstretched, until another player crawls through their legs. A player who's been caught
three times is out. The game ends when everyone left is standing still.
Spider Crawl -Line guests up and arrange a finish line about 10 yards away. Show them how to
hold their ankles and run like a spider. If a child lets go of his ankles he is out of the race. The
winner is the first child who reaches the line.
