St. Patrick's Day
Decorations
Lots of green and white accents
make St. Patrick's Day party decorations easy. Get kids into the
act by supplying them with green and white construction paper and
shamrock templates in various sizes.
Or, start with this Irish scene setter
kit , the perfect way to convert your party room
into an Irish scene.
Add assorted St. Patrick's Day themed
balloons. My favorite is the
rainbow mylar balloon.

Then hang these
shamrock ceiling
swirls from the ceiling of the party room or
choose from these
assorted Irish
decorations. Hang rainbow colored crepe paper streamers from
doorways.
Spread a green
tablecloth on the party table and set a
green glow
cup at each place setting. Scatter
shamrock confetti
along the center of the
table. Or, scatter Lucky Charms cereal on your
table as edible confetti.
Add a centerpiece made out of a
large black
pot filled with gold foil-covered chocolate coins. At
each place, set a
small black pot
filled with jellybeans, skittles, or colorful
lollipops. Or, start with small clay pots, stencil or sponge paint green
shamrocks on them and fill with candy.
Don't forget the Leprechaun's gold! Gold foil-covered
chocolate coins or these
lucky four leaf clover coins
lucky four leaf clover
coins
can be added to your
table decorations as additional confetti.

St. Patrick's Day CakesRainbow Cake - Bake a
round white cake and let cool. Add a few drops of green food coloring to
the batters for an interesting
effect. Frost the top half sky blue and the bottom half grass green.
Make a rainbow by adding layers of different colored skittles or M & Ms
candies in a semicircle around the top half of the cake. On one
end of the rainbow, place an Oreo cookie with the top flattened for the pot of
gold. Add a half Oreo sideways on top of the first to make the lip of
the pot. Sprinkle mini butterscotch morsels above the pot to resemble gold coins.

St. Patrick's Day Crafts & Activities
Make a Leprechaun House Every year my kids
build a leprechaun house to see what (or whom) might come to
visit on St. Patrick's Day. Supply each party guest with a shoe box,
colored construction paper, markers, glue, glitter, and whatever craft materials
you have handy.
Kids can cut a door and windows and decorate the house to
their liking. They can even furnish the inside to make it more
inviting. Instruct kids to leave their leprechaun house out the night
before St. Patrick's Day. It should be baited with a coin or candy to lure
a leprechaun.
They will be so excited to see if the leprechaun
visited! They've never caught one yet, but have always found a treat of
skittles, chocolate coins or pennies on St. Patti's Day
morning.
Make Fool's Gold or Magic
Stones
Supply guests with some smooth stones, gold acrylic paint,
glitter, fake gems, and craft glue. At the beginning of the party, each guest
paints a stone or two gold, then set out to dry. Later on, they can decorate
their stones and use them as bait in their leprechaun houses.

Sing a Leprechaun Song
(Sung to "I'm a
Little Teapot") I'm a little
leprechaun Dressed in green, The tiniest man That you have ever
seen. If you ever catch me, so it's told, I'll give you my pot of
gold.
