Valentine Party Invitations

Classic Frilly Hearts Invitation - Start with red construction paper and small white doilies.  Cut a red paper heart slightly smaller than the doily and glue in its center.  Now make a white paper heart just a little smaller than the red one.  Write your party details on it (or print off the computer) and glue in the center of the red heart.

Place in an envelope with a little
party confetti

and mail.

Valentine Party Decorations

Lots of red and white accents make Valentine party decorations easy.  Get kids into the act by supplying them with red and pink construction paper and a heart templates in various sizes.

Or, start with this
Valentine decoration kit , including everything you need.  Add assorted Valentine themed balloons. My favorites are the candy heart mylar balloons.

Then hang this heart swirl garland or candy heart dangles from the ceiling of the party room.

Spread a pink or
red tablecloth on the party table and set a plastic heart stem goblet  at each place setting.  Scatter Valentine table confetti  along the center of the table.

Or, try the latest fad, place a water glass on top of these red
e light coasters to create a cool lightshow at your party table...

For a really impressive yet simple Valentine centerpiece, start with two glass pedestals, one smaller than the other.  On the larger cake-sized pedestal, place assorted clear water glasses holding red and white pinwheel candies or candy canes.  On the smaller top pedestal, place one large glass with some tall candy canes.  When the party's over, you can use the candy in your party favor bags.

Valentine Party Costumes

Choose from these really cute Valentine wearables to give each child upon arrival.  We like the sparkling hearts headband or silver heart tiara.   Another favorite is the candy heart funtoos  or love beads (use to wear or decorate - 42" long).

Perhaps you'd like the party child to get all decked out for your Valentine party.  Here are some ideas:

Valentine Party Crafts

Make a "Happy Heart" Valentine Decoration

Materials:
White, pink, and red construction paper
Wiggle eyes (optional)
Scissors
Glue
Ribbon or Yarn

1. Cut out two hearts from construction paper. Make a large one (body) and a slightly smaller one (head). An easy way to cut hearts is to fold the paper in half and cut half a heart, then open the paper to reveal a perfectly symmetrical heart. Glue the hearts together at the pointed ends, with the smaller heart on top.

2. Cut four long strips of construction paper for the arms and legs. Accordion fold each one and release to make three dimensional springy arms and legs. Glue them to the hearts.

3. Cut out eyes and a mouth from construction paper or use wiggle eyes. Glue onto the face.

4. Thread a length of ribbon or string through the top of the decoration and tie the ends together. Hang and enjoy!

 Make Pencil Mice Hearts

Materials

Heavy construction paper
Pipe Cleaners
Colorful Pencils
Hole Punch
Black Marker or Pen

From red, pink or purple paper, cut out several hearts approximately 4 inches across. On each, draw a nose and eyes. Punch four holes above the mouse's nose.  Thread a short length of pipe cleaner through the top two holes and another through the bottom two. Lastly, slip a pencil down behind the whiskers, from the backside of the heart.
