Draw a simple picture of a cowboy with hat and bandanna mask or take a picture of the birthday child and scan onto posters.

Wild West Party Decorations -

Announce to guests that "the hoedown's here!" by tying this HUGE 3 ft. dancing boots mylar balloon to your mailbox or fencepost. Make a ranch sign for your front door, something like "Evan's Lazy M Ranch" or "Evan's O.K. Corral".

Use a red and white checkered gingham table cover with a few playing cards and poker chips scattered over it. Or, scatter some fake snakes around. These hoedown table decorations can double as party favors... Be sure to tie a bunch of cowhide balloons to the party child's chair.

Hang cardboard horseshoes painted gold and covered in glitter from the ceiling or tape on the wall. Make easy branding iron designs and a coyote howling at the moon. Or, try this
western decorating kit and western cut-out & banner set.

Hang this saloon door curtain from a doorway and festoon a set or two of cactus and boots electric lights around the doorway or along the wall. Western phrase signs will be a real conversation piece in your party decor!

Jail Standeejail standee

Create a little western town from large boxes. Decorate a saloon with swinging doors, or a jail cell with bars. Have an adult in western dress with a toy gun and handcuffs "arrest" party guests and put them in jail.

The jail standee above is perfect for this activity.

For an outdoor party, scatter some hay bales around to add to the western flavor. How about this cute
inflatable cactus or chile pepper for a touch of the old west?

Make painted cardboard figures of western outlaws or saloon girls with the face area cut out, so kids can put their face in it and be photographed. Or, try this Wanted Poster Standee with cut-outs for your guests faces. A great photo op!

Borrow a saddle and place over a bale of hay so kids can ride it. A tepee would be a cool touch, too. This
big red barn scene would be a great background for picture-taking, or just to add to the western decor...

Wild West Party Costumes -

Pink Cowgirl Costume
hat and bandanna

The party child can wear jeans and a checkered shirt, boots, and bandanna. Of course, a white (good guy) cowboy hat is in order, and perhaps a gunbelt and toy "sidearm" to keep the unruly outlaws in order.

Upon arrival, make guests look like cowboy "outlaws" with droopy mustaches and stubbly beards using face paints. Give each guest a cowboy hat and bandannaalong with their own sheriff's badge to complete the look.

Little cowgirls will be delighted to model this adorable pink felt sequin cowboy hat and hot pink paisley bandanna.

Wild West Party Crafts -

Paper Bag Cowboy Vest

Prepare the vests prior to the party, then let guests decorate them as desired:

Cut a slit down the middle of a brown paper shopping bag and halfway into the bottom of the bag. Fold back at the neck and fringe by making cuts of equal length. Cut a hole in the bottom of the bag that's wide enough for the child's neck. Cut armholes in the sides of the bag.

Guests can now decorate the vest with paint or markers. You can even use a sponge cut in the shape of a horseshoe to sponge paint on a decoration. Have kids paint on a gold sheriff's badge with their name on it, too. Cut more fringe around the bottom of the vest, too.

Cookie Sheriff's Badges
Roll out and cut pre-packaged sugar cookie dough with a
star-shaped cookie cutter, bake and let kids frost with yellow frosting and pipe on their names in black.
